Schedule/Learning Modules

Each 2-hour session will include approximately a mix of two 30-minute learning modules, large group discussion and small group coaching sessions.

The group (max 20) will meet once a month.

MONTH 1: Introductions and Discovery

  • Group introductions and sharing of experiences, review of 6 month curriculum
  • Introduction to the ten attributes and skills of successful DEI leaders
  • Starting the journey - the discovery process
  • Coaching – self reflection on how you would rate yourself on the 10 attributes

MONTH 2: Assessing where we are

  • Introduction to change – DEI will create organizational change
  • Methods and types of assessment (Al)
  • Coaching – How to leverage yourself as the instrument of change

MONTH 3: Starting to move forward - Conveying the results and the business case and Gaining Buy-in

  • Utilizing results to develop strategy
  • Developing and Communicating the business case
  • Coaching – connecting DEI to your organization’s strategy

MONTH 4: Accelerating the journey - Building the strategy

  • Components of a DEI strategy
  • Building allies in this work, leading as mentor and engaging the entire team
  • Coaching – Making the DEI strategy yours, how to gain buy in

MONTH 5: Having the roadmap and the gas for the trip - Executing the Strategy: The Practicalities, Tools and Tips

  • Leveraging DEI Councils and Employee Resource Groups, and best practices on inclusive recruiting, to drive DEI success
  • Session 9: Measuring and communicating your success – setting up metrics and scorecards
  • Coaching – practicalities for creating metrics, how to package and communicate

MONTH 6: Journeying with Excellence – Key Skills as a DEI Leader

  • Characteristics of an Emotional Intelligent / Culturally Competent Leader and Handling triggers
  • Overcoming barriers – how to handle the naysayers and antagonists, being a courageous leader
  • Coaching – exploring your emotional intelligence, role playing on handling tough situations
  • Wrap and evaluation
